August 20, 2012 is Holiday as Declared by Malacañang

That's right folks, August 20, 2012 will be a regular holiday according to Malacañang. This is to give respect to our Muslim brothers observing the end of Ramadan, the Eid Ul Fitr.

August 20, 2012: Regular Holiday
For the record, this holiday has come about under Proclamation No. 455, s. 2012 declaring the date as regular holiday throughout our country, Philippines. The proclamation that the palace released also stated: "Whereas, to promote cultural understanding and integration, the entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in the celebration of Eid'l Fitr.

And with that proclamation, a 4 day long weekend will be imminent since Aug 21 (Ninoy Aquino Day) will also be a special non-working holiday.
